Game Center CX Season 1 – Back to Contents
#4
Sakura Taisen
Rather than center on one company, Game Center CX explores an entire game series: specifically, Sega’s Sakura Taisen. Arino visits the developers at Red Entertainment and meets with creator Oji Hiroi, also responsible for the original Tengai Makyo games. Hiroi discusses both series at length.
Chousen
This time Arino samples Sega’s funky Dreamcast sim game, Roommania #203. The challenge here is to reach the romantic ending. Arino struggles with the game and its odd ping pong ball-like interface, only to eventually get the bad version of the romance where the hero, Neji breaks up with his girlfriend. As we later see, Arino actually got the good ending (where the couple gets engaged), but the screen changed before he could finish reading, so he only thought he failed.
